The Boatman’s Warning: Consequences of Ignoring Wise Counsel
Ya ay yuhan nasu inna wadal lahi haq qun fala tagur rannakumul hayatud dunya wa la yagur ran nakum bil lahil garur.Al Quran-35:5
O men! Certainly the promise of Allah is true. Let not then this present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver deceive you about Allah.
A boatman docks his boat on an island, advising the passengers to disembark and fulfill their needs but to return promptly due to the island’s inherent dangers. Some individuals wisely heed his words, making use of what they need on the island and quickly returning to the boat, securing comfortable and spacious seating. However, there are others whose minds become absorbed in the island’s allure, completely forgetting the boatman’s warning.
