أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
There appears a narration from Sayyidna Muhallab Ibn Abi Safrah RA in Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi through a chain rated as ‘Sahih’ in which he said, ‘it was reported to me by a person who had himself heard the Holy Prophet SAW saying (on the occasion of some Jihad concerning a night vigil) that ‘should you be attacked at the time of night, you recite: Haa- Meem laa yunsaroon which means reciting haa meem and praying that the enemy doesnot succeed. Then there are some narrations in which the formulation appears as Haa-Meem laa yunsaroo without the letter ‘noon’ at the end the outcome of which is that ‘should you say: Haa-Meem, the enemy will not succeed.’ From this we learn that Haa-Meem serves as a fortress against the enemy (Ibn Kathir).
